Description of Event: This is the first part of a 4-part educational series that will introduce the key concepts of integrative medicine (IM), how it is applied in different clinical settings, and the importance of IM for the future of healthcare. This series will also provide an opportunity to learn how AIHM supports students in their educational and professional journeys. Come join the discussion!

Presenter Bios:

Angelica Rusilowski is a 4th-year medical student at UIWSOM in San Antonio who is pursuing a career in integrative psychiatry with a focus on plant-based nutrition, mind-body medicine, and psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies for the treatment of mood and substance use disorders.

Julianna Dudas is a 3rd-year Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine Student at Bastyr University in San Diego, CA with clinical interest in treating endocrine and auto-immune disease and a background that includes work on published mind-body research studies with the UCLA Medical Semel Neuroscience Institute and a first career in film & television performance and production.

Michelle Pinel is training to become an integrative gastro-psychologist who uses mind-body therapies, nutrition counseling, wellness coaching, and psychotherapy to support patients with chronic GI conditions.

Laura Rothschild is a Doctorate Student of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine at Pacific College of Health and Sciences in San Diego. A former nurse in the United States Air Force, Laura has over 25 years of experience in wellness and coaching. Her interests are in sexual and reproductive health, longevity medicine, and functional nutrition.

Heather Speck Mendizabal is a 4th-year osteopathic medical student hoping to match into a primary care residency in which she can pursue an Integrative Medicine focus to better help future patients through various healing modalities such as osteopathic manipulative medicine, acupuncture, and breathwork.

Sumana Kondle is a 4th-year allopathic medical student in McAllen, Texas focused on a career in integrative, primary care medicine. She is passionate about botanical therapies, plant-based nutrition, and mind- body techniques.
