Daniel A. Monti, M.D., MBA
is the founding Director and (now CEO) of the Marcus Institute of Integrative Health, founding Chair of the Department of Integrative Medicine & Nutritional Sciences, and the first recipient of the Ellen and Ron Caplan Professorship of Integrative Medicine. For the past 18 years, Dr. Monti has developed integrative medicine at Thomas Jefferson University from a part-time clinical program to a featured service line with institute status and the first ever Department of Integrative Medicine at a US medical school. He has also organized all Integrative Medicine activities at Jefferson into an Institute structure, the only one of its kind. Currently, he oversees all clinical operations across 2 sites, which include a broad range of innovative medical and wellness services, and a highly unique imaging facility. Additionally, he has established a highly successful series of novel educational programs for physicians, medical students, and advanced practice health professionals, including a master’s degree in Integrative Health Sciences, a part-time remote fellowship as well as an in-person fellowship both approved by ABOIM, and numerous CME events. He has published over 50 scholarly papers on integrative medicine, has made dozens of international presentations, authored many abstracts and chapters, co-edited three textbooks, and co-published two popular press books, Tapestry of Health (Kales Press, 2020) with Anthony Bazzan, MD, and Brain Weaver (Kales Press, 2021) with Andrew Newberg, MD.
