Mimi Guarneri, MD, FACC, ABOIM is board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, and Integrative Holistic Medicine. She is an integrative cardiologist focusing on disease prevention, health creation, and the connection between planetary and human health. She is co-founder and medical director of Guarneri Integrative Health, Inc., an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), the Associate Clinical Professor of Cardiology & Internal Medicine at California Northstate University, and the founder and president of the Academy of Integrative Health and Medicine (AIHM).

Gary Deng, MD, PhD

Samueli Endowed Chair in Integrative Oncology at UCI

Dr. Gary Deng is Professor of Medicine and the Samueli Endowed Chair in Integrative Oncology at the University of California, Irvine (UCI). He serves as an Associate Director of the UCI Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, Director of Clinical Affairs at the Susan Samueli Integrative Health Institute, and Program Director of Integrative Oncology at UCI Health. His professional expertise lies in an integrative, whole-person approach to health—supporting patients across the continuum of cancer prevention, treatment, and survivorship.

Rashmi Mullur, MD, ABOIM

Director of Integrative Medicine Education, UCLA

Clinical Professor of Medicine in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Metabolism at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and the inaugural Director of Integrative Medicine Education. Dr. Mullur’s clinical and research work focuses on integrative approaches to diabetes, hormonal disorders, stress, and chronic disease management, with expertise in mind-body medicine, yoga, telehealth, and Whole Health. She serves as Chief of Telehealth at the VA Greater Los Angeles. She is deeply engaged in advancing health equity, cultural humility, and inclusive access within integrative medicine education and practice.

Scott Shannon, MD

Founder, Psychedelic Research and Training Institute

Dr. Scott Shannon, MD, is a psychiatrist, author, educator, and pioneer in integrative mental health and psychedelic-assisted therapies. A former student of Andrew Weil at the University of Arizona, he has spent decades advancing holistic approaches to mental health care. Dr. Shannon is the author of four books, including one of the first textbooks in integrative mental health, and founder of the Wholeness Center, one of the nation’s largest integrative mental health clinics. He has served as a Principal Investigator in the MDMA-assisted psychotherapy trials for PTSD and has contributed to research involving LSD, DMT and cannabidiol (CBD). Dr. Shannon is the founder of the Psychedelic Research and Training Institute. He lectures internationally on transformative approaches to mental health and healing.

Yvette Miller, MD, ABIHM

Dr. Yvette Marie Miller is the American Red Cross Executive Medical Officer for the Donor and Client Support Center (DCSC) in Charlotte, NC. She has been with the Red Cross for over 24 years, serving in various leadership capacities, including regional Medical Director and Director of Apheresis Donor Collections and Clinical Services for the Arizona Region. As the Executive Medical Officer for the DCSC, she oversees donor eligibility, product management, and donor management. She has training in leading critical conversations about structural racism, diversity, equity, and inclusion, and community resilience development.

Ryan Bradley, ND, MPH

Associate Professor, Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health, UCSD

Dr. Ryan Bradley is an Associate Professor in the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science, a member of the Center for Integrative Health Research, and a faculty member and mentor in the Integrated Cardiovascular Research T32 program. Dr. Bradley’s clinical research focuses on natural products, mind-body practices, and models of Whole Person Health care delivery. In addition to his clinical research, he is a cardiovascular and nutritional epidemiologist, having investigated cannabis- and nutritional-associated cardiovascular risk in multiple longitudinal cohort studies.

Gene (Rusty) Kallenberg, MD

Founding Director, UC San Diego Centers for Integrative Health

Dr. Gene "Rusty" Kallenberg is Emeritus Professor of Family Medicine and the Founding Director of UC San Diego Centers for Integrative Health (a member of the Academic Consortium of Integrative Health and Medicine). He was the Chief of the Division of Family Medicine and Vice Chair of the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health at UC San Diego from 2001 to 2020. He is currently a Co-PI of the NCCIH UCSD REACH Center for Translational Science in Whole Person Health.

Michael Kanevsky, MD, ABIHM

Dr. Michael Kanevsky, M.D., ABIHM is a physician working at the intersection of Integrative Family Medicine, Myofascial Medicine, Critical Care, and global and community health. Trained at Columbia University Medical Center with a focus on underserved, community-based care in New York City, and further trained at Harvard in Myofascial Medicine and Structural Acupuncture for Physicians, he has built an evidence-based, whole-person approach to chronic disease, pain, and functional recovery.

Fonna Forman, JD, PhD

Professor of Political Science, UCSD

Fonna Forman, JD, PhD, is a Professor of Political Science and Founding Director of the Center on Global Justice at the University of California, San Diego. Her work focuses on climate justice, border ethics, human rights, and equitable urbanization, with an emphasis on community-engaged research and public policy. Dr. Forman also collaborates with architect Teddy Cruz on cross-border urban initiatives in the San Diego–Tijuana region. She co-leads the UCSD Community Stations program, recipient of the 2026 US National Design Award, and has advised the United Nations, the Vatican’s Pontifical Academies, and the University of California system on climate change, equity, and global citizenship initiatives.

Dr. I. Jean Davis has decades of experience as a community advocate, educator, clinician, and researcher. Her extensive education includes a BA in Psychobiology, a BS in Human Biology, an MS in Clinical Research, a Doctoral degree in Chiropractic Medicine, and a PhD in Preventive Medicine. Dr. Davis is an Associate Professor of Internal Medicine at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science, a Clinician at Dusk 2 Dawn Urgent Care, and the AHIM Fellowship Curriculum Advisor.

Melanie R. Fiorella, MD

Melanie Fiorella, MD, is a board-certified family medicine doctor and fellowship trained Integrative physician. She provides primary care for patients of all ages, including preventive care and treatment of acute and chronic diseases. She has a special interest in women's health, mood disorders, back pain, gastrointestinal disorders, and sleep problems. She also sees integrative consults in the UC San Diego Centers for Integrative Health.

Robert Bonakdar, MD, FAAFP, FACN, ABOIM

Dr. Bonakdar has been director of pain management at the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine since 2002. There, he oversees a multidisciplinary healthcare team devoted to providing personalized integrative care for the prevention and treatment of chronic conditions using nutrition, acupuncture, biofeedback, mind-body therapies, and novel, technology-based solutions. Dr. Bonakdar has delivered more than 250 presentations on integrative pain management and has served as an invited presenter to the congressionally mandated Pain Management Best Practices Inter-Agency Task Force and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.
