Dr. Michael Kanevsky, M.D., ABIHM is a physician working at the intersection of Integrative Family Medicine, Myofascial Medicine, Critical Care, and global and community health. Trained at Columbia University Medical Center with a focus on underserved, community-based care in New York City, and further trained at Harvard in Myofascial Medicine and Structural Acupuncture for Physicians, he has built an evidence-based, whole-person approach to chronic disease, pain, and functional recovery.
Dr. K has served as Medical Director of Intensive Care in western Montreal and as Medical Director for the United Nations in Canada (Montreal). His extensive global health experience includes collaborations with the United Nations in Haiti and the Ministries of Health in Saint Kitts and Nevis, Uganda, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala, where he has spearheaded community health initiatives and education needs assessments. His work is grounded in Community-Oriented Primary Care (COPC), and he is recognized for advancing Community-Oriented Integrative and Myofascial Medicine as a pillar of functional recovery, pain care, and prevention. He teaches and collaborates on research with McGill University.
He is Founder and Medical Director of the Centre Médical | Well Center and President of the International Institute for Integrative Medicine (i3M), where he leads the Diplomate Fellowship in Evidence-Based Whole Health, Integrative and Myofascial Medicine. His current interests include clinician wellness and system-level resilience—reducing burnout, mitigating moral injury, and restoring coherence within global healthcare systems.
