April Gruzinsky Roman, MS

Raised in Hawaiʻi, April brings an aloha spirit and island style to everything she does, wherever she calls home. She is deeply committed to lifelong learning and enjoys working with learners of all ages.

April holds an MS in Psychology and is passionate about identifying commonalities that bring people together. She values and honors individual differences while believing strongly in collaboration toward shared goals. Guided by both heart and mind, she believes that with good intentions, anything is possible.

In 2006, April moved to Tucson, Arizona where she worked with pioneers and leaders in Integrative Medicine for 10 years. Initially, she worked with Fellows and later transitioned to working with medical students and residents.

April has worked with the AIHM Fellowship since 2016. Her primary focus is Recruitment and Admissions, where she has the opportunity to connect with prospective Fellows from around the world through phone calls, email, and web-based meetings.

April lives in North Carolina with her husband, Dave. When she’s not working, you’ll find her listening to music, dancing, walking in nature, traveling, or savoring a strong cup of coffee.
