Test, Talk, Transform: Integrating Nutrient Testing to Elevate CareÂ
In this webinar, Dr. Tubuo will discuss how healthcare professionals are increasingly being called to move beyond reactive care and into a more proactive and prevention-focused approach. Yet, many still rely on generalized recommendations without objective data. This session explores how integrating nutrient and biomarker testing into clinical practice can transform patient interactions, enhance decision-making, and elevate the delivery of personalized care.
Through real-world examples and practical workflows, attendees will learn how to identify individuals who would benefit from testing based on symptoms, medications, and health goals, and how to confidently introduce testing as a clinical tool (not a sales tactic). This session will also outline scalable strategies for incorporating testing into existing workflows, from point-of-care screening to lab partnerships.
By leveraging targeted biomarker insights, providers can move from guesswork to precision thus strengthening patient trust, improving outcomes, and creating new opportunities for both clinical impact and practice growth.
Objectives:
1. Explain how integrating nutrient and wellness testing enhances your role in preventive, proactive, and personalized patient care
2. Recognize which patients may benefit from nutrient testing by evaluating symptoms, medication use, lifestyle factors, and individual health goals
3. Design practical strategies to incorporate nutrient testing into your workflow to improve clinical outcomes, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and build patient trust
Presenter Bio:
In 2003, Emlah Tubuo arrived in the United States with only $300 to her name. A few short years later, she became Dr Emlah Tubuo, PharmD. Her education is admirable: Bachelors of Science in Microbiology (University of Buea Cameroon), Masters of Science in Molecular Biology (University of Chicago), and Doctor of Pharmacy (The Ohio State University). Her career as a pharmacist began at Kroger Pharmacy, where she practiced for several years before becoming an Ambulatory Care Pharmacist at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She is now the proud owner of Powell Pharmacy where she also owns and operates her supplement line, Emlah Naturals.
Dr Tubuo’s challenging early life experiences in Cameroon shaped her view and values on life, inspiring her to serve herself and others by providing compassionate, quality healthcare. As a child, she suffered from many preventable illnesses, such as Malaria, Typhoid Fever, and Dysentery. As an adult, she recognized the impact she could have on her community as a pharmacist by prioritizing lifestyle and preventive medicine. Her goal is to serve each patient with intent, kindness, and compassion while focusing on health as a whole, not just medications.
As a proud Buckeye, Dr Tubuo gives back to her roots by precepting OSU College of Pharmacy students as well as Post-Graduate Residents. Her teaching philosophy is to enhance, teach, and role model emotional intelligence to her students. She focuses on providing practical education that helps support and empower patients to manage their chronic disease states by promoting holistic wellness through intentional eating, customized supplement use, and medication therapy management. For Dr Tubuo’s patients, she strives to provide education that prepares them for a healthy, balanced life and offers many intentional wellness programs to help patients achieve their goals.
As Dr Tubuo’s career grew, so did her family. As the years went by, she and her husband expanded to a family of five. She began to wonder how she could share her experiences finding success as a pharmacist maintaining work-life balance with the other roles she leads: Mother, Educator and Entrepreneur. The answer was to add another role: Speaker. She began her speaking journey by lecturing at The Ohio State University, educating students on Humanistic Pharmacy. She inspires her audience by sharing her vision on intentional wellness through expansion of clinical services in her community. She has served as the keynote speaker for corporations such as the American Pharmacist Association, National Community Pharmacist Association, American Pharmacist Services Corporation, McKesson, Women of Wendy’s, and the Powell Chamber of Commerce. Her message revolves around taking small consistent steps in the direction of our goals.
