Here are general details around transferable CEUS but ALWAYS confirm directly with your board for official confirmation and approval.
Commission for Case Manager Certification (CCMC)
The CCMC renewal guide provides directions on submitting CE units on pages 8-10. Log in to your CCMC account to access the renewal guide on your dashboard. CCMC will accept any CE credit as long as the content you learned is directly related to case management.
Dental Board of California
Credits from UCI School of Medicine CME courses cannot be transferred to meet the CE requirements of the Dental Board of California. Credits can only be claimed by dentists for courses provided by organizations officially registered with the Dental Board of California, Academy of General Dentistry’s Continued Education Recognition Program (CERP), and/or the American Dental Association’s Program Approval for Continued Education (PACE).

California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS)
Credits from our CME courses cannot be transferred to meet the CE requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) for LCSWs. BBS does not accept AMA PRA Category 1 Credit for LCSW license renewals. CE credits must be provided by a select group of providers (Approved List) .

American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
AAMA accepts non-AAMA credit. A maximum of 30 recertification points may be accumulated from sources other than AAMA CEUs (e.g., physician CME credits). 1 continuing medical education (CME) credit = 1 recertification point. (Refertification FAQ ).
Medical Library Association/Academy of Health Information Professionals (MLA/AHIP)
MLA/AHIP accepts CME credits from courses provided by ACCME accredited providers for its members to earn points for continuing education (AHIP Points ).
California Naturopathic Doctors Association
The California Naturopathic Doctors Association accepts AMA PRA Category 1 for its members to meet continuing education requirements (CALND CE Requirements ).
California Board of Registered Nursing (CBRN)
The CBRN recognizes CME credit as transferrable for their members. Nurses may receive CEUs after submitting their UC Irvine attendance certificate directly to their board (Renewal )
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP)
American Academy of Nurse Practitioners accepts CME-accredited courses for their members as part of their requirements for recertification. (Recertification FAQ )
Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Pharmacy Foundation of California (PFC)
If a CE course is not accredited by the ACPE or the PFC, or approved as CE for pharmacists, you may petition the board for CE credit by submitting a “Pharmacists Petition for Continuing Education Credit from A Non- Recognized Provider” form from www.pharmacy.ca.gov and a fee of $40 per hour of coursework. When submitting the petition, a copy of the completion certificate, a copy of the course brochure or advertisement, and course outline is required.
Department of Consumer Affairs, Physical Therapy Board of California (PTBC)
California Code of Regulations, Title 16 Division 13.2, Article 13, Section 1399.94, Description F allows the alternate pathway of attending CME conferences to accumulate continuing competency hours for PTBC licensees. To claim attendance for a CME course, the attendee must provide their attendance certificate and supplemental proof that the course content pertains to physical therapy. A maximum of 2 hours can be claimed per conference with a cap of 8 hours per renewal period. (PTBC )
American Osteopathic Association (AOA)
2A credit is provided for AMA credits earned through live courses; 2B credit is provided for AMA credits earned through online self-study courses. DO participants may submit a copy of their Certificate of Attendance to the AOA office to receive Category 2 credit. For faster processing, be sure your AOA number always accompanies any CME request submitted. Visit the CME Guide for the Osteopathic Physician on the AOA website to apply for credit.
American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP)
For the AAFP, CME-accredited courses are accepted as elective credit as follows:
“These activities are not automatically considered to have AAFP Prescribed credit. However, activities that have AMA PRA Category 1 Credit and AOA-approved activities are automatically accepted as AAFP Elective credit.” (AAFP Credit )
Physicians may earn AMA PRA Category 1 Credit for participation in some international activities. As of this writing, the AMA has agreements with the European Union of Medical Specialists, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners for the conversion of their CME credit to AMA PRA Category 1 Credit. The American Medical Association has an agreement of mutual recognition of Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits with the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), the accreditation body for European countries. Physicians interested in converting AMA PRA Category 1 Credit to UEMS-European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education CME credits (ECMECs) should contact the UEMS at firstname.lastname@example.org.
California Department of Consumer Affairs Physician Assistant Board
Category 1 continuing medical education is required for physician assistants. Admissible CME must be provided by AMA and ACCME providers, among others. Visit the CA PAC Board’s Renewal Page For more info.
National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Certification requirements include 100 hours of CME, 50 of which must be Category 1 credits and the rest can be either Category 1 or 2. ( NCCPA CME ).
California Board of Psychology
The California Board of Psychology recognizes CME credit as transferrable for their members. Psychologists may receive CEUs after submitting their UC Irvine HP certificate directly to their board.
