RESEARCH – 2021

Welcome to the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine 2021 VIRTUAL Research Hall that was featured at the 2021 AIHM People. Planet. Purpose. conference in October of 2021. We were thrilled to receive over 40 abstract submissions for our virtual conference this year! Abstracts were received in a wide variety of topics on integrative health and medicine, naturopathic medicine, chiropractic medicine, holistic nursing, mind-body research, acupuncture, consciousness and spirit, public health, and policy related to integrative health and medicine, or other relevant topics.

The 2021 WINNERS of the 2021 AIHM Research Awards for Best Integrative Health Research of the year were announced at the AIHM Membership Meeting at the AIHM People. Planet. Purpose annual conference.   Congratulations to:

First Prize: James Whedon, DC, Director of Health Services Research, Southern California University of Health Sciences for his research poster: Association between Cervical Artery Dissection and Spinal Manipulative Therapy among Medicare Beneficiaries

Second Prize: Dugald Seely, ND – Executive director for the Patterson Institute for Integrative Oncology Research at CCNM, and an investigator with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute (OHRI) for his research poster: Adjuvant Melatonin for the Prevention of Recurrence and Mortality following Lung Cancer Resection: A Randomized Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial

Third Prize: Michelle Sexton, ND University of California San Diego for her research poster: Transcriptional Changes in Patients with Chronic Neuropathic Pain: A Pilot Study.
