Toni Young-Pen is passionate about reducing health disparities in underserved communities and is a zealous advocate of healthier living. She currently works in a FQHC, San Diego Family Care – Mid City Community Health Clinic, as a Certified family practice Physician Assistant. She is a 1997 graduate of University of Colorado’s Child Health Associate/Physician Assistant Master’s Program. The biopsychosocial training in the CHA/PA program helped foster her holistic approach to caring for patients. She thrives by connecting with her culturally diverse and psychosocially complex patients and helps to guide them to be healthier, more active and engaged in their own health.
Toni is originally from Madison, Wisconsin – a solid mid-westerner at heart! She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Rochester in New York with a double major in Psychology and Health & Society. She is fluent in Spanish and loves to travel and learn about other cultures. Currently, she resides in San Diego with her husband, three daughters, 2 dogs and 2 cats! She is active in the local community as a competitive youth soccer coach for girls. She is an outdoor enthusiast, bike commuter and athlete.
