Social Impact Scholars

AIHM Social Impact Clinical Scholars Program

Launched in 2019, the AIHM Social Impact Clinical Scholars Program awards scholarships for the AIHM Fellowship to health care practitioners working in underserved communities. AIHM has dedicated $576,000 to this program and is committed to working in collaboration with local, national and international organizations for collective social impact.

About the AIHM Fellowship in Integrative Health & Medicine

The AIHM Interprofessional Fellowship in Integrative Health and Medicine is a 1,000-hour, 2-year hybrid educational program for clinicians. It leads many eligible MDs/DOs to national board certification to shift the clinical system of care from one of disease management to one of health creation. The AIHM Fellowship covers topics including: nutrition, dietary supplements, botanical medicine, motivational interviewing, and self-care.

Partner Scholarships

AIHM has partnered with California Primary Care Association, Community Health Association of Mountain/Plains States, Integrative Medicine for the Underserved, Live Well San Diego, and Northwest Regional Primary Care Association to offer full scholarships ($24,000) to the AIHM Fellowship to clinicians working with the underserved at one of our members’ clinical sites!

Eligibility

The next class begins on April 6, 2020! Applicants for the next class beginning April 6, 2020 must be licensed clinicians/practitioners and have completed a master’s degree level of education. We encourage you to apply for AIHM’s Social Impact Scholarship Program!

The deadline to apply is March 13, 2020.

Please note: You must be an active employee at one of our Partners’ clinical sites for the entire duration of the Fellowship.

“I have learned about multifactorial care to treat the whole person and address the underlying cause of disease. I’ve learned how to prevent disease and keep my patients healthy through integrative medicine.”

—Kayla Taylor, NP
AIHM Fellow and 2019 Clinical Scholar

“I have been impressed by the broad inclusion of various experts in integrative medicine. This Fellowship allows students to learn from very experienced providers and brings them right into your home.”

—Juli Olson, DC, DACM
AIHM Fellow and 2019 Clinical Scholar

“I feel supported by a community of like-minded peers that want to make integrative medicine accessible to the underserved. As someone who recently completed my medical residency training, becoming a fellow with AIHM would have been very difficult without this scholarship.”

—Julie Lu, DO
AIHM Fellow and 2019 Clinical Scholar

“Being a student of the AIHM Fellowship program rejuvenated my thought process to deliver success for patients through reflective communication. The program has matured me as a provider to understand and treat myself as I would treat all patients.”

—Richard Rojas, DC
AIHM Fellow and 2019 Clinical Scholar

“Often times in the healthcare profession the healers are overlooked, when instead they should be incorporated in the patient/provider healing process of health care as AIHM promotes, because in the end we can only give what we have.”

—Chase Billotte, DPT
AIHM Fellow and 2019 Clinical Scholar
