At BlueWave Medicine, we have established a new category in concierge medicine. Our model is a first-in-class concierge medicine practice rooted in functional, integrative, tech-enabled, and precision-based medical care. We offer Medicine 3.0 care: proactive, participatory, and preventive.  Our physician-led teams use a team-based model to leverage improved outcomes including our nutritionists, personal trainers, health coaches, acupuncturist, bodyworkers, psychotherapists, yoga therapists, and others. Who are we looking for?

An exceptional physician who is passionate about joining a best-in-class concierge medical practice with opportunities for management and ownership.

You will be responsible for providing primary care services rooted in precision medicine, functional medicine, longevity, and integrative health. You will collaborate and lead a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals to deliver integrative medical care that combines conventional and lifestyle medicine approaches to health and well being.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  • 3+ years’ experience as a physician (MD or DO)
  • Medical degree and residency training from accredited and top tier institutions 
  • Board certification in a relevant specialty 
  • Experience and excellence in primary care
  • Valid California Physician license
  • Curiosity and passion for functional medicine and integrative healthcare
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (including active listening, inductive reasoning skills, and remaining open to ideas and learning new things)
  • Strong conventional medical diagnostic skills and preferably trained in other diagnostic approaches
  • Enthusiasm for working in team-based environments
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence including emotional regulation and co-regulation
  • Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach 
  • Proven track record of providing extraordinary customer service
  • Autonomous, responsible, and proactive – exceptional professional, poise, and sophistication are a must
  • Enthusiastic and passion for our mission
  • Tenacity to follow through and close the loop on both quick and long-tail responsibilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Preferred 

  • Well-versed in practicing precision-based integrative primary care (inclusive of functional medicine and/or lifestyle medicine). 
  • Additional training: 
    • Board certification in Integrative Medicine 
    • Institute for Functional Medicine certification or comparable training
    • American College of Lifestyle Medicine certification 
    • Ayurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, mind-body medicine, etc.
  • Advanced computer literacy, primarily with Apple computers, and tech-savvy comfortableness working in a paperless environment (EHR enabled)
  • Exceptional ability to multi-task and properly self-prioritize, with efficiency and high productivity
  • Adept with technology applications and services 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work collaboratively with the medical director, medical staff, and front/back-office administrative staff within the context and scope of practice for a physician
  • Cross coverage of patients during physician owner travel. 
  • Physician lead and collaborator with your ‘patient care pod’ which is inclusive of your designated medical assistant and patient care navigator.  
  • Typical primary care physician responsibilities including: 
    • Interview and examine patients
    • Assess patients current and ongoing health
    • Order and interpret lab and test results
    • Make initial and ongoing diagnoses
    • Determine and document initial and revised patient plans of care
    • Prescribe medication and nutritional supplements as needed
    • Offer education, encouragement, and support to patients
    • Update patient records in the practice’s electronic health records platform
  • Work closely with team members to optimize the patient care experience

REQUIRED SKILLS AND PROFICIENCIES

  • Demonstrated ability to perform comprehensive initial and follow-up healthcare evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound clinical judgment, including consulting with other practice physicians, and external specialists. 
  • Demonstrated ability to always act in the best interest of the patient and to help patients make informed decisions related to their healthcare
  • Ability to accurately code patient visits and provide thorough documentation using an electronic health records system
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic phlebotomy procedures and tasks
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain the confidentiality of patient information according to federal, state, and practice guidelines and regulations
  • Proficient at researching, understanding, and adapting to medical office protocols
  • Proficient using Microsoft Word and Excel, email, and electronic health records software
