Integrative Health Month

TOGETHER WE CAN

TRANSFORM HEALTHCARE

Integrative Health Month has been designated by the Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM) as the time to recognize the importance of transforming the disease-care model into a holistic, patient-centered one – mind, body, spirit, community and planet. Throughout the month, organizations around the globe will shine a light on the contributions of integrative health and medicine practitioners and raise awareness among consumers about the benefits of integrating conventional Western medicine with traditional and complementary therapies. This observance is aligned with the start of a new year as people are reflecting on their goals and hopes for the year ahead.

The Academy of Integrative Health & Medicine (AIHM) and its member organizations represent collectively more than XXXX integrative health and medicine professionals globally. In creating Integrative Health Month, AIHM was joined by like-minded industry leaders committed to delivering comprehensive, whole-person care. Together, they are working to advance integrative health on a global scale and transform health and wellness through education, leadership, collaboration, research and advocacy.

INTEGRATIVE HEALTH

MONTH KEY MESSAGES

Integrative health professionals share a commitment to using evidence-based approaches as they collectively migrate from the current disease-care model to a holistic, sustainable, person-centered model.

Integrative health practitioners utilize a range of safe and effective options in diagnosis and treatment utilizing evidence-based approaches.

Practitioners who are trained in evidence-based integrative care can include medical doctors, functional medicine doctors, osteopathic doctors, naturopathic doctors, chiropractors, acupuncturists, registered nurses, licensed nutritionists, midwives, pharmacists, dentists, licensed massage therapists, and many more.

Central to the practice of any integrative health and medicine approach is a shared value of treating the whole person – mind, body, spirit, community and planet.
