Free Virtual Symposium

Join members of the National Academy of Medicine’s Action Collaborative on Countering the U.S. Opioid Epidemic on November 12 at 9:00 am ET for a virtual symposium that will address some of the highest-priority elements of the nation’s response to the opioid epidemic.
The virtual symposium will include a keynote address that discusses the intersection of race, addiction, and health disparities. There will also be an opportunity to engage in dynamic conversations about the most effective and innovative solutions and strategies to prevent, treat, and manage opioid use disorder and other substance use disorders.
Interested participants are welcome to join us for the whole day or for any session that you find interesting.
Virtual Symposium Agenda
Keynote Address | 9:20 – 10:00 a.m. ET
The keynote presentation of the virtual symposium will feature Kassandra Frederique, Executive Director of the Drug Policy Alliance, and focus on the intersection of race, addiction, and health equity, including tools, resources, and strategies to address health disparities. The presentation will be followed by a discussion moderated by Ruth Katz of the Aspen Institute and co-chair of the Action Collaborative
